Didcot Leave The Power At The Station

Some late hitting from South African Malcolm Hohls saw the Mills win a thrilling match by 2 wickets against fellow strugglers Didcot. Skip Pete Mag won a vital toss and put Didcot in and we restricted them to 128 all out. The pitch always had something in it for the bowlers and the prediction score was hard to judge. Neil "Angus Fraser" Ireson once again was the pick of bowling with 4 for 25 and Malcolm Hohls also took 3 for 4 from 4 tidy overs. Mills were excellent in the field with Ben and Terry taking excellent catches at Long On. Ian also took a sharp catch at Gully via his legs!

After an outstanding Tea from Gemma,we started the chase. We lost last week's hero Anand cheaply to a Run Out which brings Ian and Brian together. Ian goes on to score 27 and Brian an excellent 37. Both are given lives after being dropped early on. But once Brian went the Mills collapse starts! 80 for 1 became 88 for 6 with Duncan,Ian, Pete Mag (First Ball) and Richie all out. Malcolm joins Terry and the pair score 15 before Terry edges a good ball behind. A strange thing happened the ball before when an appeal for LBW against Terry was given not out by umpire Brian but the Finger went up! After a few moments Terry survives until the next ball! Ben came in and ran himself out and Mills start to panic. But Dan goes out to join Malcolm and we win after Malcolm puts their fast bowler into the Football pitch! Excellent win the mills!
